MONTVILLE, NJ - The twenty-ninth annual Michelle Sullivan Fund basketball game was held on Sunday, April 14, in the MTHS gym. Woodmont and Hilldale parents competed for the win over four twelve minute quarters.

Hilldale Elementary School’s team consisted of 13 dads, and Woodmont Elementary School’s team had 16 dads and one mom. Before the game commenced, Woodmont alumni Rebecca Neadel performed the National Anthem. Music and emceeing duties were taken on by DJ, Pat Lyons. At halftime, Hilldale and Woodmont cheerleaders put on an enthusiastic performance for the crowd, followed by the kids halftime game, Hilldale vs. Woodmont students.

During the event, there were opportunities to purchase 50/50 raffle tickets and raffle tickets to win a jacket or cup. All donations went to the Michelle Sullivan Fund, where they give scholarships, sponsor Montville teams, and help students in honor of Michelle, who was a student at Woodmont and Lazar Middle School.

Hilldale remained in the lead throughout the game and were just one point ahead after the first quarter. By the second quarter, the Hilldale dads widened the gap, pulling ahead by nine points over Woodmont. After the third quarter, the score was 50-44, in Hilldale’s favor. The final score of the game was a 71-50 victory for Hilldale Elementary School.

Hilldale captain and players were Chris Herott, Anthony Goglia, Calvin Kwock, Dave Schachman, Don Oliver, Josh Toporoff, Keith Rothfritz, Michael Marolla, Michael Picarello, Mike George, Rick Bernstein, Tom Baginski,and Will Zaragoza.

Woodmont captains and players were Daniel Beasley, Bill Golding, Tiffany Lee, Omar Bellorin, Anthony Guardascione, Ali Saleh, Brian Ferreira, Davis Marte, Deepak Chugh, Gary Ruesch, Jeremy Wolf, Michael DiBenedetto, Ned Bennington, Shawn Collins, Chris Ameli, Enrique Marin, and Giovanni Fleres.

Hilldale and Woodmont cheerleaders were Lexi Lawlor, Hazel Mulrenin, Lucy Mulrenin, Hunter Bodow, Lilly Ciottariello, Ariana Daskalosk, Gabriela Garcia-Higgs, Jaylene Jimenez, Rylee Kehayes, Leah Kulik, Rachel Louissaint, Alyssa Muniz, Celine Ramos, Annabel Santana, Scarlett Shephard, and Annabella Solimando.

Hilldale and Woodmont halftime game players were Dexter Toporoff, Jake Bernstein, Jordan Schachman, Luca Zaragoza, Greyson George, Gianna Picarello, Michael Herott, William Golding, Henry Marin, Joseph Costantino, Lennox Lamph, and Chris Collins.
