Description

On Sunday, May 19, 2024, Community Paper Shredding Day will take place at the Berkeley Heights Municipal Complex parking lot (29 Park Ave). The event starts at 9 a.m. and runs through 1 p.m., or until the shredding trucks reach capacity. This is a great opportunity to recycle paper with confidential material.

Please remember:

Previously shredded paper or wet paper will not be accepted.

Please bring material in paper bags (no leaf bags, plastic ring binders, or clips). Boxes and plastic bags will be returned.

Limit papers to confidential / sensitive materials only.

In an effort to accommodate all those wishing to participate, there is a limit of 4 bags or boxes per car weighing no more than 10lbs. each.

Residents only, no businesses.

If you are unable to attend this event but still want to participate, the next event in Berkeley Heights will be Saturday, October 19, 2024. There are also more events throughout Union County during the year that you can find on the website https://ucnj.org/recycling/mobile-paper-shredding/

The Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission was established to protect, develop or use natural resources, including water resources, located within the Township. The Environmental Commission is an advisory group with the responsibility to recommend plans and programs to the Planning Board for the development and use of open lands and wetlands. All the members volunteer their time on a variety of projects and tasks.
