Multiple roadworks and traffic delays reported across key highways and local routes in Morris County this morning; plan your travel accordingly.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - As of this morning, travelers in Morris County are facing various delays and road construction projects affecting major highways and local roads. Notably, delays have been reported on I-80 and NJ 15, with construction activities impacting areas from Mount Olive Township to Millburn Township.

Traffic Delays:

  1. I-80 Eastbound: Travel time is currently extended by 15-20 minutes between West of Exit 27 - NJ 183/US 206 in Mount Olive Township and East of Exit 35 - Mount Hope Avenue in Rockaway Township.
  2. NJ 15 Southbound: There is a 5-10 minute delay between South of CR 615/Edison Road in Jefferson Township and South of CR 634/N. Main Street in Rockaway Township.

Construction Updates:

  1. NJ 24: Ongoing construction in both directions from East of Exit 1 - CR 511/Whippany Road in Morris Township to West of Exit 7 - NJ 124/JFK Parkway in Millburn Township. The left lane will remain closed until 2:00 PM.
  2. I-287: Construction on the southbound lane from North of Exit 42 - US 46 to North of Exit 41 - I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township has resulted in the left lane closure until 3:00 PM.
  3. NJ 23 and NJ 53: In Pequannock Township and Morris Plains respectively, travelers will notice right shoulder closures and open lanes with potential intermittent closures until 3:00 PM.
  4. US 46: Construction affects both directions from I-80 in Denville Township to I-287 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, with one right lane and shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

Special Alert:

  • NJ 15 Southbound Exit Ramp at NJ 181/Espanong Road/Weldon Road in Jefferson Township is closed and detoured until 11:59 PM due to construction.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, seek alternate routes, or adjust travel plans where necessary to avoid delays. The construction schedules and lane closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions and other factors.
